According to Your Mercy: Praying with the Psalms from Ash Wednesday to Easter

Author: Martin Shannon, CJ February 21, 2017

This lovely Lenten devotional book invites Christians to pray the Psalms and reflect on the words and wisdom of the church fathers about the Psalms. The author, an Episcopal priest who holds a PhD in Liturgical Studies from the Catholic University of America, offers a short commentary on the selected Psalm, has paired his commentary with excerpts from such church fathers as Ambrose, Gregory of Nyssa, John Chrysostom, and Augustine, and ends each daily entry with a prayer. This resource could be used by individuals for daily prayer and reflection or as the basis for a group study of the Psalms during Lent. If used in a group study, participants could center solely on the Sunday entries for group meetings or also share their thoughts about their daily devotional readings.  For more information or to order go to Paraclete Press at http://www.paracletepress.com/AdvancedSearch/DefaultWFilter.aspx?SearchTerm=According+to+your+mercy.
